SITE OF CONSCIOUSNESS_THE SEWER 意識現場_下水道
Dates: February 20, 2019 15:00 時間: 2019年2月20日下午3:00 ( Performance view of SITE OF CONSCIOUSNESS_THE SEWER, Long Quan Temple, 2019 ) SITE OF CONSCIOUSNESS_THE SEWER: Screening of the video work "Dowsing and Earth Spirit" with live soundtrack performance. A collaboration between TING Chaong Wen and Immanuel Dannenbring. In terms of time, “SITE OF CONSCIOUSNESS_THE SEWER” refers to TING’s trip back to his origin. He goes back to the region where he grew up as a child thirty years ago. There is a national park inside an industrial city. The park itself is a mountain formed during an orogenic movement in the late Pleistocene. Hunched coral reefs under the sea later became lime-based earth. Rugged and sharp coral stones spread all over the earth’s surface. Due to extended compression, rises, folds, faults and joints appeared among rock strata, creating karst topography. Subterranean streams of rain eroded the terrain and groundwater flowed out through crevices among rocks and became water springs. A series of geologic mutations inspire the artist to investigate relations between water and modernity, body and society. Man’s imagination of nature and desire to control it are strongly inscribed onto water which is a part of the material culture of modernity. The project "SITE OF CONSCIOUSNESS" is based on the concept of "on-site". It emphasizes the on-site production, which is a series of artistic projects jointly planned and carried out by the artists. It involves locality and emphasizes the relation of dialogue between the community and artists. Immanuel Dannenbring is a composer/sound artist focusing on experimental music in the domains of electronic and acoustic music. As a performer, he primarily works with found sounds, field recordings, and percussion in rehearsed and improvised settings. He is also associated with local free improv ensemble PA66 and produces electronic music under the pseudonym (東海土著). For the past two years, he was program organizer at art/theater/performance venue Little Play in Taichung, Taiwan. Who has hosted a variety of artists from abroad including: Paal Nilssen Love (NO), Sax Ruins (JP), Burkhard Beins (BE), Will Guthrie (FR), Yong Yandsen (MY), NAKAMA (NO), 青葉 (JP) and much more. coelacanth2.bandcamp.com 意識現場_下水道:錄像「尋龍與地靈」戶外放映與現場配樂表演,本活動由丁昶文與戴向諶共同合作。 「意識現場_下水道」在時間意義上指涉了藝術家丁昶文的溯源之旅,三十年之後回返兒時成長的區域,一座工業都市裏的國家公園,公園本身是一座山,形成於更新世晚期的造山運動,拱起的海底珊瑚礁,後期變成石灰地質,地表遍佈粗糙、尖銳的咾咕石(coral stone),岩層在長時間受到擠壓,發生隆起、褶皺、斷層與節理,造就了喀斯特(karst topography)地形,雨水伏流對地形進行溶蝕,地下水遂經由岩石縫處流出,形成湧泉水,一連串的地質變化賦予藝術家研究水與現代性、身體和社會的關係,水作為現代性的物質文化,強而有力地刻印著人類對自然的想像與控制的慾望。 「意識現場」計畫以"on-site"為概念,而"on-site production"強調是在地製作,為一項由藝術家共同籌劃及執行的藝術計畫,涉及了在地性,並強調不同社群彼此之間的對話關係。 戴向諶(Immanuel Dannenbring)專注於藝術與實驗音樂領域,以Acoustic與電子為主的樂器演奏者與作曲家。在表演上,他通常使用電子器材,與打擊類物件進行創作,除了有固定曲目與結構的演出外也參與各項即興演出。同時也參與自由即興樂隊 PA66 和個人電子音樂創作(東海土著)。 大學在紐西蘭的維多利亞大學主修器樂/聲樂作曲。2012年以一首八聲道電子音樂創作曲 “Distant”,獲得了利本爾作曲大賽第二名。畢業後返台期間,除了在台灣各地巡演外,也應邀到日本沖繩和東京演出。 參與的演出有:春吶,巨獸搖滾,搖滾台中,大稻埕國際藝術節,失聲祭,ZUBAR (東京),今秋藝術節和2018台北雙年展作品:《菌絲網絡社會 》開幕演出,並在玩劇島小劇場 Little Play 管理藝術教育與表演活動。 |
